Goodbyes are hard

I’ve had to leave you time and time again

With each time the gap between us gets wider

We don’t see eye to eye anymore

I’ve stopped living in your ways

You’ve miss placed my moments and things

I’ve gained a new identity, less like your own

You’ve lost my respect

I’ve become too city like

You’ve stopped trying

I’ve let you down

You expected better from me

I wanted better for you

Just because the distance is far doesn’t mean we cannot be close anymore

We have to learn to love the new versions of ourselves

We can try to mend the gap so long as love still binds us
